Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

End of Worlds – stuchiu edition

Chiu on This
A short and regular opinion blast from Stephen Chiu

In a way, we should have always known it was going to end like this. At the very beginning of all of this, the West were certain that this was the year the gap was finally going to close and that a Korean team would lose in a bo5.

It didn’t happen as the three Korean teams ended up in 3 of the top 4 placings.

In a strange twist of fate, the one Korean team that didn’t make it to Worlds was KT. KT beat SKT 3-2, but lost to ROX 2-3 and Samsung 2-3.

SKT won this worlds by beating ROX 3-2 and Samsung 3-2. This was the greatest indignity that could have befallen the KT and their fans.

Some say Ryu is still dying to this day for this.

Also one of the mythical Samsung Dragonballs that summoned Shen Long and stopped the SKT Empire all of those years ago has left China and looks to be returning home. Deft is coming.
