Slingshot Readers,

If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. Kongdoo Monsters’ GuGer: “I was jealous of CoreJJ.”

LCK final
Tickets for the LCK final sold out in a day

Kongdoo Monster support player Kim “GuGer” Do-Yeop said Wednesday he is jealous of Samsung Galaxy’s support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-In.

GuGer was also previously an AD Carry before he changed roles like Core JJ, and in an interview with Daily eSports’ Nam Yun-Sung said he was inspired by CoreJJ’s performance at the League of Legends World Championship.

“I was jealous of CoreJJ, who switched positions from ADC to support and be able to perform well at the world championship,” he told Daily eSports. “I was deeply moved. I vowed that I too would develop like him. I view the KeSPA Cup as a primer to the 2017 spring split, and I want to do well and be able to stand on the big stage as well.”

GuGer was also rather critical of his team’s 2-0 victory over KeG Seoul on Wednesday in the KeSPA Cup, saying that “there were points in games one and two that were disappointing,” and commented on the closer Game 1.

“The situation looked pretty bad as our top laner (Kim “Roach” Kang-Hee) got solo killed twice, but the team focused on playing calm and overcame that moment.”
