MVP top laner ADD: “There is no champion better than Poppy.”

MVP head coach Kwan Jarvan IV
The MVP head coach said his team has plenty more surprise champion picks left for the playoffs.

Team MVP’s top laner Kang “ADD” Gun-Mo said that Poppy is the best champion in top lane.

In an interview with Fomos’ Son Chang-Sik after MVP’s 2-0 win Thursday against the Afreeca Freecs in the KeSPA Cup, ADD explained the reason why he choose the Yordle in both games.

“I think there’s no champion better (than Poppy),” he said. “When going against a Trundle, you can change the outcome depending on who’s playing him.”

With the win, MVP advanced to the quarterfinals, but perhaps with a stroke of bad luck was placed on the same side of the bracket bracket as world finalists SK Telecom T1 and Samsung Galaxy. As a Busan native, ADD said he hopes to compete in his hometown in the semis or finals of the tournament.

On the topic of the quarter finals, ADD gave a more predictable answer as to which team he wants to face, but he also said that between Samsung and SKT, he’d rather face the world champions.

“I’d like to face KeG Choongnam,” he said. “I don’t think all of SKT’s starting roster will be present this tournament. If I had to choose between them and Samsung, I’d rather face SKT.”
