Dekay: Valde to stand in for Dignitas at ECS Finals, per sources

Winterfox owner allegedly owes players money. Team stranded in Australia sorting out visa issues
Missing payments and broken promises from Winterfox owner Brian Cordry have left the organization’s Counter-Strike players stranded in Australia without proper visas or return flights to The United States, the players have alleged.

The Dignitas Counter-Strike team will use Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså as a stand-in for Emil “Magiskb0Y” Reif at the ECS Season 2 Finals, according to a source close to the team.

Magiskb0Y has returned home to Denmark to finish school exams and therefore is not able to participate with the rest of the team.

After being a relatively unknown player until early this year, Valde has flourished as a core member of Heroic. In recent months, Valde has been considered among the top prospects in Denmark and will get an opportunity to showcase his skill against some of the best teams in the world later this week.

The ECS Season 2 Finals, which begins Friday, has a $750,000 prize pool on the line with two of the top five teams in the world, SK and Dignitas, attending with stand-in players. The field will also include both finalists from ELEAGUE Season 2, Astralis and OpTic Gaming.

UPDATE: The move has since been confirmed on Twitter by MSL
