Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

MadLife out of first NA Challenger Series match because of visa delay

Hong “MadLife” Min-gi will not be participating in Gold Coin United’s North American Challenger Series game Wednesday.

MadLife wrote on Twitter late Tuesday that he will not be participating in his team’s game Wednesday because he did not get his visa processed in time.

“Hello, due to a delay in the issue of the visa, I am still in Korea,” he wrote. “As such, another support will be playing in my (place). Please support my team’s upcoming match!”

MadLife has decided to leave his former team CJ Entus after CJ was relegated from League Champions Korea.

Gold Coin United plays Big Gods Jackals at 11 p.m. ET Wednesday.

Update: According to a previous tweet, MadLife was unaware of when his first game was until as recently as Jan. 6. A Korean fan asked him when his first game would be in NA, and he replied, “I don’t know yet.” It’s unclear if that had anything to do with his visa, but it was worth including.
