Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. DeKay: Liquid and OpTic to swap stanislaw and Hiko

Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz will join North American Counter-Strike team Liquid in the coming days, according to multiple sources close to the player. Stanislaw’s departure from OpTic Gaming was made in an unexpected announcement during the organization’s latest “Vision” episode.

As a result, Spencer “Hiko” Martin will depart Team Liquid and join OpTic. Hiko has been a member of Team Liquid for a year and a half, helping the team reach the semifinals of the MLG Columbus Major and later becoming the first North American roster to reach a Major final in CS:GO at ESL One Cologne 2016.

The move comes less than a week after OpTic failed to get beyond the group stage of the ELEAGUE Major, though it played the event’s finalists (Virtus.Pro and Astralis) in its first two matches. Liquid also failed to make the playoffs with a 2-3 record in the group stage after losing to eventual champion Astralis in its tiebreaker match.

Stanislaw had been with OpTic since the beginning of last year, sans for a two-week period in August when he was dropped from the team before being re-added in September.

Team Liquid declined comment. Slingshot has reached out to OpTic for comment.
