Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

Kongdoo head coach: “I think I’ll be able to sleep peacefully tonight.”

Kongdoo Monster finally ended its long losing streak Wednesday, taking a 2-1 win against the Jin Air Green Wings. In an interview with OSEN’s Ko Yong-jun, coach Jang “MC” Min-chul shared his relief with his team’s first win of the season.

“Lately I’ve been very concerned with the team, but now I think I’ll be able to sleep peacefully tonight,” he said.

Kongdoo started the League Champions Korea season with six losses, totaling a 14 match LCK losing streak going back to last year’s spring split, which resulted in being relegated for the summer split. Kongdoo eventually re-qualified for the LCK after a successful Challenger split in the summer.

Wednesday’s win also marks head coach MC’s first since his appointment as a head coach of a League of Legends team. Previously a wildly popular StarCraft player, he joined Kongdoo in December.
