Faker congratulates Bang on 1,000 kills, “hope he understands” why it couldn’t happen in match before KT

Players reaching 1,000 kills became a noteorthy subplot for SK Telecom T1 and KT Rolster this week.

SKT’s AD Carry Bae “Bang” Jun-sik reached the milestone on Thursday in their first match, and KT’s jungler Go “Score” Dong-bin did so in Sunday’s rematch.

After the first match between SKT and KT, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok explained in an interview with Fomos why he was adamant in denying Bang his 1,000th kill the match before Thursday.

“I did want to give Bang the 1,000th kill but it wasn’t a point where I could have, since it was possible we could have lost,” he said. “I hope he understands.”

Bang was apparently asking for his team for the 1,000th kill milestone during their match against Samsung Galaxy, as it was revealed that Faker was more focused on hitting the Nexus and winning the game. Bang’s disappointed was visible in the OGN “Off the Record” video on YouTube, as he screams and puts his face in his hands as he was denied the last kill.

When asked to say a congratulatory message to Bang during the interview with Fomos, Faker simply said, “congratulations.”
