Counter Logic Gaming has acquired Australian Counter-Strike player Ricky “Rickeh” Mulholland from the Renegades organization, according to multiple sources. Rickeh will replace recently departing player Yassine “Subroza”‘ Taoufik, who stepped down from the team Feb. 13.
Rickeh joined Renegades in July and was a starter until recently being benched, apparently for reasons unrelated to play. Upon his benching, Renegades used Swedish player Simon “atter” Atterstam at DreamHack Las Vegas as a temporary stand-in. It is unclear at this time who will replace Rickeh full time on the Renegades starting roster.
CLG has a 4-2 record in Season 5 of ESL Pro League and looks to improve its ninth place finish in Season 4. Adding Rickeh is CLG’s second move of 2017 after veteran in-game leader James “Hazed” Cobb stepped down in January to pursue other opportunities.
CLG could not immediately be reached for comment.
