Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

Riot Games announced Tuesday the NA LCS summer finals will take place in Boston.
Riot Games announced Tuesday the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS) summer finals will take place in Boston.

The summer finals for the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS) will take place in Boston.

Riot Games announced Tuesday on Twitter the next finals will take place in Boston, Massachusetts. Ticket information, dates and venue will be announced at a later date.

The summer finals will return to the United States for the first time since last spring. The 2017 NA LCS spring finals were in Vancouver, B.C. and last summer’s finals were in Toronto, Ontario. The last time the playoffs were held in America was the 2016 spring finals, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. This is will be the LCS’ first visit to Boston.

Boston has had a steady increase in investment for esports, as it is home to one of the biggest gaming events of North America, PAX East. Boston also hosted a Dota 2 Major in December.

The spring split finals featured Team SoloMid defeating Cloud9 in their sixth meeting in a NA LCS final. In the third place, Phoenix1 defeated FlyQuest.

The NA LCS summer split begins Friday.

UPDATE (3:32 p.m.): ESPN’s Tyler Erzberger tweeted that the summer finals will be held at the TD Garden, home of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins.
