Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

Stewie2k to return to IGL spot for Cloud9

Stewie2K will return to the in-game leader role for Cloud9.
Stewie2K will return to the in-game leader role for Cloud9.

Cloud9 will again reshuffle its in-game leader, as Jake “Stewie2k” Yip will return to the role after a brief stint with Timothy “Autimatic” Ta as the leader.

Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert told Slingshot during an interview Saturday at the ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals that the team will return to Stewie as the leader, effective immediately.

“Tim has been calling, which he’s actually pretty comfortable with in terms of strats, but he felt like it made his play a little more static and it in turn made the team less impactful. So I think after this event we’re going to go back and give Stewie a shot with that.”

Cloud9 finished last in its group at the ESL Pro League playoffs with a record of 1-4 and will attend next week’s PGL Americas Minor likely with a new leader.

“I guess (what led to the change) was just a little inexperience in calling,” Stewie said. “He’s not a bad caller. It definitely takes a lot of stress off my shoulders. He has a lot of good leadership qualities, but I think right now since we’re on this summer run, it’s better to go back.”

Check back later for the full interviews with n0thing and Stewie.
