Overwatch Contenders groups revealed

Overwatch Contenders groups were revealed Tuesday for the European and North American regions. Competition starts June 17.

Season Zero of Overwatch Contenders has been whittled down to 32 teams, 16 each in North America and Europe, and Blizzard unveiled Tuesday the group draw for each region.

The tournament started with more than 1,200 teams and played out over the last few weeks. TheĀ final 16 teams in each region were split into four groups of four. The teams in each group will play every opponent twice in a double round robin format, and the top team from each group will advance to the playoffs, which start July 1 and 2 and includes a $50,000 prize pool in each region.

The groups come with some interesting storylines. Selfless will play without Daniel “Dafran” Francesca, who has been suspended for misconduct. The North American field also includes Immortals, which is looking to cement itself as one of the best teams in the region, as well as established organizations including Counter Logic Gaming, Cloud9 and Counter Logic Gaming.

The European group stage begins at 1 p.m. ET Saturday, and the North American tournament starts at 7 p.m. ET Sunday. The groups are as follows:
