Immortals announced Tuesday the signing of Overwatch player Lee “envy” Kang-jae, formerly of Rhinos Gaming in Korea.
Immortals released two players from its Overwatch roster, David “Nomy” Ramirez and Athen “Aythen” Zhu, to sign envy as a substitute. As part of Rhinos, envy has experience playing in OGN’s Overwatch Apex.
“As Immortals’ Overwatch team manager, I’m looking forward to what envy brings to the table,” general manager Joshua Kim said in a news release. “He’s a hungry player looking to constantly improve, and his skillset will add depth to our squad and enable us to prepare for the future. He’s a talented player that has got a fire burning in his heart that will in turn light a fire under the other players. I look forward to our progress.”
This will be Immortals’ third Korean Overwatch player after announcing June 2 the signing of former Mighty AOD support Bak “KariV” Young-seo and main tank Koo“Fate” Pan-seung, as well as Kim, the former Blade and Soul caster for OGN, as general manager. The rest of Immortals’ roster consists of Christopher “GrimReality” Schaefer, Brady “Agilities” Girardi, George “Hyped” Maganzini and Stefano “Verbo” Disalvo.
