G2 Esports added Michael “Hoang” Tuan Hoang as a substitute for its League of Legends team, the organization announced Monday.

Hoang will replace Jean-Victor “Loulex” Burgevin as a substitute jungler position. Hoang was previously known as Risdrengen and was a part of Millenium as a temporary sub during Dreamhack Tours. Loulex will leave to pursue an opportunity with another League Championship Series team.

According to the team’s announcement by G2, Hoang has experience playing with G2’s AD Carry Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, and Zven was the player on G2 who recommended his former teammate as a potential substitute. Although previously known for his play as a mid laner and support, Hoang will switch roles once again to join the European powerhouse.

“We always knew that Loulex would be a great pick-up and we are happy that he got a new opportunity,” G2 coach Joey “YoungBuck” Steltenpool said. “During the process of scouting we’ve found a great talent in a young Danish player, Hoang. We are convinced that he makes a great substitute due to his ability to play multiple roles on a high level. Also, Zven vouched for him and this was also very important for us. We hope that the League of Legends community will give Hoang a warm welcome, and we’re looking forward to getting him to Berlin to stay with us during the Rift Rivals tournament in early July.”
