Samsung Galaxy coach: “Right now the team is undergoing a change, so the players are having a hard time.”

Samsung Galaxy coach Choi Woo-beom says his team is changing its play style, which could cause some uneven performances during the process.

Samsung handily defeated the bbq Olivers 2-0 in Wednesday’s League Champions Korea match, but it came with some uncharacteristic mistakes, particularly in Game 1. Choi told OSEN the occasional struggles are somewhat expected and part of the process in making such a change.

“We saw some mistakes in the match today, but since we’re changing our play style, we consider it a part of the changing process,” he said.

Samsung Galaxy has been acknowledged as one of the strongest teams in Korea since its performance at last year’s League of Legends World Championship, where the team finished second after pushing SK Telecom T1 to five games in the finals.

In the spring split of the LCK, Kang “Haru” Min-seung joined the team as a jungler, putting the aggressive jungling style of Samsung on the map. Samsung entered the playoffs in second place with a record of 14-4 but ended at third after 1 3-0 loss to KT Rolster.

Choi says the players are going through a difficult time with a game play shift, but it will all work out fine.

“Right now the team is undergoing a change, so the players are having a hard time,” he said. “But we’ll work harder to win against the Jin Air Green Wings and Longzhu Gaming.”
