Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. With no players left on the team, Cyclowns had no other choice but to forfeit their remaining Overwatch Contenders group stage matches.

Tuomo “Davin” Leppänen, the former DPS player for the disbanded European team, confirmed to Dot Esports the organization will forfeit its remaining three group stage matches.

Following Monday’s announcement that the Cyclowns would disband in the middle of the Overwatch Contenders group stage, it was unclear what would happen with the empty spot the organization occupied. Cyclowns was 0-2-1 and in last place of Europe Group D.

Due to the team’s willing forfeit of the matches, the remaining matches Cyclowns were scheduled to play will give the other members of Group D a 4-0 win.

A number of the former members of Cyclowns have found new homes. Davin announced that he will be playing with the former members of Ninjas in Pyjamas, now called Rest in Pyjamas. Ryan “CrusaDe” van Wegen is on the roster listing of Laser Kittenz, and Emil “destro” Krastev is on the Movistar Riders.

Overwatch Contenders will continue this weekend with the second round robin in Europe and North America before the remaining teams advance to the playoffs. Matches in the European side will take place Saturday, with the North American schedule on Sunday.
