Shynon and Swifte listed as subs on Team SoloMid’s League of Legends roster

Team SoloMid has added two new faces to its League of Legends team as substitutes, according to the team’s roster page on lolesports.

TSM added Vincente “Shynon” Vu and Johnny “Swifte” Ngo as AD Carry and support substitutes, respectively. It is unlikely they will compete in the team’s Week 4 games of the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS), as TSM has traditionally used only its five starters. Both players are listed in Riot Games’ global contract database, and the players must have been added to the roster before Friday as the database had not been updated since June 7. But there has not been an announcement from the team about the two players.

Shynon was previously the AD Carry for Delta Fox, Echo Fox’s challenger team, and competed in the spring split of the North American Challenger Series. Swifte was previously a part of Team Dignitas, as the team added him in March as a substitute when William “Stunt” Chen transferred to Phoenix1.

TSM has been looking to bolster its roster for a brief time, as the team announced last week former Fnatic AD Carry Rasmus “MrRalleZ” Skinneholm would conduct a tryout to be a substitute. It’s unclear if the addition of Shynon has any impact on the status of MrRallez, who said he would be undergoing a tryout for 15 days.

TSM has seldom needed a substitute in any role as the team has largely used the same group of five players each week. The AD Carry has been the only role that has changed this year as Yiliang “DoubleLift” Peng replaced Jason “WildTurtle” Tran in the summer split after DoubleLift returned from a one split hiatus. Wildturtle has since joined FlyQuest.
