Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. Afreeca Freecs release one of their Overwatch rosters

The Afreeca Freecs released one of their two Overwatch rosters.
The Afreeca Freecs will no longer operate two Overwatch teams as they released the Red team on Tuesday.

The Afreeca Freecs announced Tuesday they decided to let go of one of their Overwatch rosters, Afreeca Freecs RED.

Every player on the RED team other than Lee  “InY0uNg” In-young, who was the sub-healer player for RED, will be released. The reasoning behind the decision is that the team wishes to focus on a single team for better results.

Afreeca RED was the weaker team of the two, and though it competed in Season 2 of OGN APEX, it lost 3-0 in every match and was relegated to the challenger league for Season 3. The team’s performance there wasn’t much better, as its chances of promotion were dashed.

Afreeca’s Blue team has enjoyed a decent amount of success since its conception, as it was runner-up in the first season of OGN APEX and a quarterfinalist in Season 2. The Blue team also finished third in the most recent season of APEX.

The players that have become free agents are Song “QuarterMain” Ji-hoon, Oh “Rio” Seung-pyo, Nam “attune” Gi-hoon, Kim “Creed” Yeon-kyung, Kim “sansam” Hyang-ki, and Kim “Navi” Hyo-jin.
