New skins such as Pentakill Kayle and the new Battle Boss line are among the cosmetic items to hit the League of Legends Public Beta Environment for testing.
In addition to the items listed above (which wasn’t exactly a surprise, as Pentakill Kayle was teased earlier in the day on Facebook), ward skins, chroma packs, and a new look for Summoner’s Rift are all Tuesday’s PBE update.
Perhaps the most exciting news for fans of League is a new arcade-themed accent on the Summoner’s Rift map. Following the releases of the new skins, the fountain, turrets, inhibitors, minions, and other small touches will all get an arcade makeover. The change can also be toggled by the player, which means that if you don’t like the new look, you can simply disable it.
A new skin, Lancer Zero Hecarim, was revealed. It switches out the ethereal ghost centaur with some sleek white armor with gold accents and a jousting spear. The skin has a unique recall animation, spell effects, particle effects, and even new sound effects as well. The catch is — with a lot of the more cooler looking skins — that it’s a loot box exclusive, which means players will have to roll the dice and hopefully get it through pure chance.
The Hecarim skin in a loot exclusive, which means that players need to get gemstones based on random chance. If players get 10 of them, they can unlock loot exclusive skins such as Lanzer Zero Hecarim.
The Battle Boss line includes skins for Malzahar, Ziggs and Brand.
Following the Pentakill Kayle skin and the new Battle Boss skins comes the Pentakill ward skin and the Arcade Poro ward skin. The Pentakill ward skin definitely is rocking the aesthetic as a microphone with wings, while the Arcade Poro ward skin does what anything involving Poros do in the game; look cute.
New chroma packs are also available for the first Battle Boss Blitzcrank, as well as one of the newer arcade skins, Arcade Corki. Each chroma change has varying decals and markings, making each chroma more than just a palette swap.
Along with the ward skins are new summoner icons depicting the three newest Battle Boss skins as well as the Arcade Poro ward skin.
Also added is a lot of files that were added for “Arcade Summoner’s Rift,”with new minion models, music, decals on the map and more. There hasn’t been any official announcement on why they are there, but it’ll probably have something to do with the new skins.
