UPDATE (2:07 P.M. Aug. 9): Natus Vincere has since announced the signing of Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko and that seized will remain part of the active roster. The story and headline have been updated to reflect the new information. Here’s a full rundown of NaVi’s status over the last week.
Ukrainian in-game leader Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow and Russian rifler Denis “electronic” Sharipov are expected to join Natus Vincere’s Counter-Strike team this week, according to multiple sources close to the players and organization.
These additions come on the heels of Na’Vi parting ways with Denis “seized” Kostin and Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács last week. Slingshot previously mentioned ANGE1 and electronic as likely replacements in a report Thursday, and according to Na’Vi, an official announcement is expected Tuesday.
ANGE1 has been a member of HellRaisers since March 2014 and brought the team to the brink of winning tournaments on multiple occasions. He is one of the best in-game leaders in the CIS region and has extracted strong results for a lineup that has primarily lacked firepower and consistency. HellRaisers recently placed second at DreamHack Tours for the second year in a row and reached the semifinals at StarSeries Season 3. The team failed to qualify for the PGL Krakow Major after being knocked out by Immortals in a tie-breaker match.
Electronic has been the best player on Flipsid3 Tactics since he joined the team and will add tremendous talent to the Na’Vi lineup. Flipsid3 hasn’t participated in many tier 1 events, so the sample size of his play is small against international competition. He has produced a 0.79 KPR and a +12 rating in eight maps over two Majors with Flipsid3, where the team has suffered consecutive group stage exits. The addition of new leadership and even more firepower should help Na’Vi almost immediately, as the team hopes to regain the form that it lost during the first half of the year.
Na’Vi’s next event and first with this lineup is in one month at DreamHack Malmö in Sweden, where many other teams will debut their revamped rosters.
Natus Vincere could not initially be reached for comment.
