Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After visa problems prevented Team Empire‘s Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenk from entering the United States, ex-Planet Odd player Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok became the team’s replacement at The International 7.

Through a series of tweets on Wednesday, Resolut1on wrote that he was upset Chappie couldn’t compete at the world’s largest Dota 2 tournament and that he’d do his best as a stand-in.

Team Empire tweeted Sunday that Chappie received his visa but was still waiting on his passport. When Chappie still didn’t receive it by Monday, the team said if the passport didn’t arrive by Tuesday, Empire would enlist Resolut10n’s help for the tournament.

Resolut1on was previously a part of Planet Odd’s Dota 2 team until Tuesday, when the players parted ways with the org having failed to qualify for TI7.

Team Empire is in the middle of the pack through its first handful of matches in Group A. Empire has a record of 2-4, having tied two matches and lost one.
