League of Legends Patch 7.16 goes live Wednesday, and aside from the many champion changes, a long awaited feature will go live: vision pings.
The feature will finally allow players to tell their teammates that a particular bush is warded without having them face-checking it by mistake. There is a small caveat, though, as the new ping option isn’t a part of the Ping Wheel that is immediately accessible to the players. The vision ping will have to be manually added to a button command by the players. In the settings menu, players can go to the hotkeys category to find the “Area is Warded” ping, and assign it a button.
Long-awaited item changes
Ancient Coin finally received a nerf. The random coins drops from minions that replenish the support’s mana is now 10 percent of missing mana instead of 15. The gold income is still the same.
The popular jungle item enchantment Cinderhulk also received a nerf. Although it’s still cheaper than previous renditions, it’s slightly more expensive than the current live value. It remains to be seen if this is enough to curb tanking support junglers that suddenly became popular.
Auto-attacks no longer get stacks off of wards
Unlike auto-attack reset abilities, abilities that are expended based on auto-attacks or gain or use stacks through auto-attacks will no longer be able to do so with wards. The champions that were fixed this time around were Aatrox’s W, Jayce’s auto-attack buffs when he switches forms, Riven’s extra damage after casting an ability, and Jax’s third strike with his W.
Arcade skins and chroma will be added in 7.16
The Battle Boss Malzahar, Brand, and Ziggs skins will be added into patch 7.16 for purchase, along with Pentakill Kayle. The Lancer Zero Hecarim Loot-exclusive skin will be added to loot box drops, and the chroma packs for Arcade Corki and Battle Boss Blitzcrank will also be added in the patch.
