The discussion surrounding Natus Vincere’s Counter-Strike roster has swirled for weeks. Here’s what we know about what eventually became a more fluid situation in the past few days.
Na’Vi planned to add Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow and Denis “electronic” Sharipov in place of Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács and Denis “seized” Kostin, as Slingshot reported last week. Sources explained that these moves would be completed soon and a Na’Vi executive explained publicly that a roster announcement would come in two to three days, which didn’t happen.
According to Arseniy “ceh9” Trynozhenko, a former Na’Vi member, HellRaisers asked for more money than Na’Vi was willing to pay for Ange1, which sparked the opportunity for Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko to rejoin Na’Vi instead. Ceh9 says Zeus was a fraction of ANGE1’s price — at $80-100,000 to reacquire — and wanted to leave Gambit after the rest of his teammates decided to kick coach Mykhailo “kane” Blagi. If that happens, Seized is expected to rejoin Na’Vi as well, even though he received a few offers from other teams.
According to sources close to the team, this all transpired within the last few days after talks with ANGE1 broke down. As a result, Na’Vi’s interest in electronic waned as he and ANGE1 were seen as a package signing.
The situation has become shrouded in mystery in the last few days as the talks with ANGE1 and electronic deteriorated. Players and situations changed almost daily, which is evidenced by the organization promising their fans some sort of an announcement on multiple occasions without doing so. This projected lineup of Seized, Zeus, Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Egor “Flamie” Vasilyev would effectively be the original Natus Vincere lineup, with s1mple AWPing instead of GuardiaN.
UPDATE (2:01 P.M. ET): Natus Vincere has announced the return of Zeus. The story and headline have been updated to reflect the new information.
