Ornn, the newest League of Legends champion, will be available in Patch 7.17, which goes live Wednesday. As usual, the champion will cost 7,800 IP during the first week, and 6,300 IP afterward.

Ornn is a blacksmith, and his two passive effects encompass his unique status. One passive, Living Forge, allows him to spend gold to build items for himself outside of combat, which can be done through the store menu. His other, Master Craftsman, gives both him and his allies access to special upgrades to select items from the shop, with a limit of one upgrade per player.

The list of upgradable items ranges from damage items to supporting items, and each upgrade will cost players 1,000 gold each, with the exception of the support items, which will cost 500 gold.

Ornn’s Q, Volcanic Rupture, has Ornn slam the ground with his hammer, sending out a skill shot that slows all enemies while dealing damage. After a couple of seconds, a small pillar appears at the target location, acting as a wall for a couple of seconds. This is most likely going to work like other terrain altering abilities, such as Trundle’s pillar or Anivia’s wall.

His W, Bellows Breath, has an active and passive component. When activated, he becomes unstoppable, shields himself, and breathes flames out in front of him. The flames deal a portion of the enemy’s current health as magic damage. Enemies damaged by his last flame attack become brittle, which is the passive component. Brittle enemies suffer a portion of their maximum health as bonus damage when struck by immobilizing effects, and immobilizing effects last longer on Brittle enemies.

His E, Searing Charge, makes Ornn charge in a direction, dealing damage to enemies he’s passing through. When he collides with terrain while charging, he hits all enemies in a small area and destroys player created terrain. This ability will be the crux of Ornn’s combo, as his Q creates a small wall, and his W can make enemies Brittle.

His ultimate, Call of the Forge God, summons a fire elemental in the shape of a ram, which travels toward Ornn with increasing speed in a target area. Enemies hit by the it take magic damage and become “Brittle.” The volcanic ram-bear hybrid demigod looks like he’s born of fire, unlike the icy realms of the Freljord where he hails from. Ornn’s command over a fire elemental and ability to alter the terrain seems to match his status as a god to many humans of Freljord.

Ornn will receive a skin as per usual with new champions, titled Thunder Lord Ornn. The skin will cost 1,350 Riot Points ($10).

League of Legends Patch 7.17 will also feature the new star guardian skin set, a brief return of the Hunt of the Blood Moon game mode, a plethora of champion tweaks and a new Preferred Item Slots feature.
