The current build gives D.Va a total of 18 missiles with the capability of 11 shots per second. The missiles have different damage profiles on explosion and impact, which are eight and four per missile, respectively. The cooldown timer for the ability will be eight seconds.
It’s important to note that the explosions will be subject to a damage falloff, which means that they will deal less and less damage the further away the shooter is when the missiles explode on the target. The explosion area will also be 1.5 meters, which is a slightly smaller area when compared to the explosion area of Pharah’s missiles, which is 2.5 meters.
The goal of D.Va’s rework is to make her a more aggressive tank choice, lessening her reliance on the Defense Matrix ability, which allows her to nullify all projectiles in an area in front of her. The proposed changes will make the ability last half as long as it does right now in exchange for the Micro Missiles and the ability to shoot her offensive weapons while she’s boosting.
The stats for the Micro Missiles are still subject to change as they will be added soon to Overwatch’s Public Test Realm, though the exact date is not yet clear.
UPDATE (2:37 P.M. Eastern Standard Time): The D.Va changes have been applied to the Overwatch PTR.
