Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. Does NA believe once again at worlds?

Chiu on This
A short and regular opinion blast from Stephen Chiu

‘Chiu on This’ is a short and regular opinion blast

I’m not sure what it is hardcore League of Legends fans see whenever the League of Legends World Championship comes around. But I can tell you from someone who has watched StarCraft 2, it is schadenfreude all the way down. Nothing makes an SC2 fan happier than watching a bunch of Western players get smashed by Koreans in another game. Especially when said fans have some strange level of inexplicable hope. So when we look at the draws, we have:

In Group B we have: Longzhu, Immortals, Gigabyte Marines and a fourth team to be decided from the play-in stage.

In Group D we have: Team SoloMid, Flash Wolves, Misfits, and the TBD fourth team.

Group B can still be a toss-up for IMT depending on who gets in fourth, but it should be assumed that TSM will be one of the two favorites to get out of Group D. At the same time, Cloud 9 doesn’t seem to have a difficult play-in.

But I’m no League of Legends expert, so someone tell me, are we set up for another incredible salt mine for NA at worlds again this year?
