OpTic Gaming reportedly joins Overwatch League, has applied for NA LCS franchise

OpTic Gaming has secured an investment from a group led by Texas Rangers co-owner Neil Leibman and acquired a spot in Overwatch League, according to a report by ESPN. OpTic has also reportedly applied to join the North American League of Legends Championship Series.

OpTic will operate a Houston franchise in Overwatch League, according to the report. Another member of the Rangers’ ownership group, Kenneth Hersh, has reportedly invested $35 million in Team EnVyUs, which will reportedly join Overwatch League as a franchise in Austin-Dallas.

The reported additions of EnVyUs and OpTic would push the list of Overwatch League to 11 teams. The list of confirmed franchises and its owners are as follows:
