Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

NRG Esports unveiled its Overwatch League roster.

NRG Esports announced Thursday its roster for the upcoming Overwatch League.

The team consists of Matthew “super” DeLisi, Andrej “babybay” Francisty, André “iddqd” Dahlström, Dante “Danteh” Cruz, Jay “sinatraa” Won, Daniel “dhaK” Paz, David “nomy” Ramirez, and Nikola “Sleepy” Andrews.

The introduction video, which features NRG investor and Hall of Fame basketball player Shaquille O’Neal and new investors Jennifer Lopez and Marshawn Lynch, lists every member of its San Francisco franchise team, as well as a small acknowledgement from Sinatraa at the end.

NRG was one of the first seven teams to join Overwatch League and will operate the San Francisco franchise. The team has since found a head coach in former Selfless Gaming co-owner Brad Rajani, and signed Sinatraa for a reported $150,000 per year salary.

The team will temporarily relocate to Los Angeles for Season 1, which begins Jan. 10. The matches will take place in the new Blizzard Arena in Burbank, and preseason exhibition matches will begin Dec. 6.

The first season of Overwatch League will contain 12 teams.
