G2 Esports released a music video called “G2 is Going to Get Ya” with the band White Sage on Wednesday in anticipation of the League of Legends World Championship.

The hype video was done in partnership with G2 and White Sage, and is the team’s very own production with its own team at the center. The lyrics definitely feel like they were written with League fans in mind, as the song makes regular references to the game and memes. The song itself isn’t an original composition, but a parody of an existing single already released by White Sage called “Going to Get Ya,” with the lyrics changed for the sake of the video.

The reception of the video has been wildly positive from both G2 fans and those who weren’t already fans. As the top seed from Europe at this year’s worlds, a lot of weight is on the shoulders of G2, and the organization seems to be more than willing to bear that burden with style.

G2 has long been considered to be one of the if not the best European team in the past couple of seasons. After it joined in the European League of Legends Championship series, the team won the past four splits in a row, winning two qualifications to the Mid Season Invitational and worlds. Although G2 had a disappointing 13th place finish in last year’s worlds, the team recovered with a second place finish at this year’s MSI right behind three time world champion SK Telecom T1.
