The recently-reworked Evelynn is apparently under-performing more than expected, prompting some potential buffs in League of Legends Patch 7.21.
Riot Games’ Andrei “Meddler” van Roon explained the possible changes Wednesday in a dev corner post and wrote it wouldn’t take an overwhelming amount of changes to balance Evelynn.
“We’re still watching Evelynn,” he wrote. “She’s performing better as people get more experience on her, and we believe she’ll be stronger on Runes Reforged than current runes/masteries. She’s still underperforming a bit relative to how we’d expect her to be doing at this point though. We’ll likely be going with some light buffs in 7.21 as a result, aimed at things that we’re confident are good changes regardless of her current power level.”
So far the collection of buffs look like eliminating the cooldown on her passive when hit by minion attacks, and increasing the refund when hitting jungle monsters. They also might include a slight damage buff to her Q.
Another buff to her E is in the pipeline but the dev team is still considering pulling it, as the focus of the other the buffs have less to do with pure power.
Ornn is finally at stable
After a slew of buffs to the champion since his release, Ornn seems to be in a good place with no future plans for balancing. With a win rate of 49.48 percent in the top lane, Ornn has made it all the way back from when his win rate was in the 30s.
Nerfs coming to the Iron Locket of the Solari
The popular shield item will receive nerfs, though the timeline is unclear. The Locket itself isn’t as much of a problem, but more how the shield gets stacked with allied defensive abilities, making assassinations of key targets near impossible. A possible direction is making it a more viable choice for tanks, but less so for enchanters.
