This year’s Tales of the Rift event for League of Legends began Thursday with various promotions running throughout the next two weeks.
The Doom Bots of Boom game mode, a featured game mode introduced in 2014, will return for the event. The object of the game is to play against enemy champions controlled by bots in teams of five and destroy the opposing Nexus. The catch is that the enemy champions’ abilities are powered up significantly, making the game more difficult. The Doom Bots game mode will be available through Nov. 7.
There will also be event specific missions with rewards on the line. If players encounter a total of 30 skins in match made games, they will win the Death Sworn summoner icon. In order to win the Death Sworn ward skin shard, anyone on the players’ team need to kill two barons, two neutral rift heralds and eight dragons. These objectives can be achieved over the course of multiple games and will be active through Wednesday.
The three new Death Sworn skins for Viktor, Katarina, and Zed will be available during the event for 1,350 RP ($10) and will remain in the store until Nov. 26. The summoner icons that modeled after the three skins will also be available for purchase in the same time window for 250 RP (about $2).
All of the previous limited edition skins that were released during previous Halloween events will return to the store available for purchase through Wednesday. All of the skins are available individually and in specific bundles.
