Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

Pro perspective: What would you change on the next patch?

Slingshot attended the final week of the North American League of Legends Championship Series spring split and had the chance to catch up with various players. There’s plenty more coming from our trip to Los Angeles, but let’s start with a simple — yet thought-provoking — question we asked nine players in the North American LCS. Do you agree with the pros? Have your own suggestion? Let us know in the comments section.

Alberto “Crumbz” Rengifo, Renegades: I’d make turrets really hard to kill.

Brandon “Mash” Phan, Team Impulse: I don’t like the random Kog’Maw buff they implemented.

Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent, Renegades: Nerf (Maw of Malmortius). Maw is so ridiculous. They said they were gonna do it in 6.7, but that’s so far away. Maw is just ridiculous because when they change warlords, champions like Graves became so OP because versus any AP you just get Maw, and you go low and just life-steal everything and never die.

Alan “Kiwikid” Nguyen, Dignitas: I still think tanks are too strong. I think that’s kinda hard to balance. I think support is pretty big right now. I think the pool is pretty big. The only thing I miss is the AP supports. There are seven favorable supports right now, I’d say. Korea seems to favor the melee supports. I feel like support’s in a really good spot.

Matt “Matt” Elento, Team Liquid: I usually just try to focus on my role. So I’d say a lot of other roles probably want a lot of things changed, but I’m pretty fine where I’m at. I think there’s definitely different options. There’s different play styles for it, different champions that can be strong. I wouldn’t say there’s not changes to be made. But I’m not complaining.

Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, Team Liquid: Nerf Nidalee. Get that thing out of the game, dude, It’s a parasite. It’s just running around the whole map. I think the champion needs to be tuned down quite a bit. Everything about that, if the champion had a hard CC, that wasn’t just on monsters, she’d be the perfect character in this game. If she had some form of CC, she’d be a perfect jungler. She already has the clear speed, the mobility, the gank pressure, the damage. If she had CC, she’d be the most broken and perfect champion Riot’s ever created.

Austin “Gate” Yu, Team Impulse: I think on this patch, Jhin is broken. I would actually just change how that champion works. Right now, it’s catching in popularity, but even now, recently, I’m playing Jhin in ranked, and I’m destroying every game and it’s not even my main role. I think it’s so easy to play that champion. They should just nerf that champion, actually. It’s seeing so much play right now.

Apollo “Apollo” Price, Dignitas: I’d remove Soraka. That’s the best balance you can get in the next patch. Just remove that champion.

Galen “Moon” Holgate, NRG: Rengar buffs, but not where he was before. But I want tank Rengar to be available because that’s my favorite champion.
