Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. Pro perspective: Who’s the best you’ve ever played against?

Everybody wants to know who’s the best. The constant debate is one of the pillars of sports and esports among fans. But what about the pros? Who do they think is the best among them?

When Slingshot attended Week 9 of the North American League of Legends Championship Series, we had the chance to ask five professional players who they thought was the best player in their position that they had ever faced. The answers are below. Also make sure to check out the previous article in this series, where we asked the players what they would change in the next patch.

Two of the junglers asked named the newly-announced spring split MVP, Kim “Reignover” Ui-jin, but take a look at the rest:

Alberto “Crumbz” Rengifo, Renegades jungler

I’m gonna have to say it was, I believe last year during a scrim, because on Dignitas we went in January to Korea, and we ended up playing against EDG and I believe maybe also against World Elite. But I got to play against Spirit and ClearLove. I thought they were really exceptional.

Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, Team Liquid jungler

Reignover. Reignover is really good. It’s really fulfilling playing against him because he’s so smart and so good. I feel like I’m matched and outdone in most areas. But it also makes me really bitter because I know when I show up on stage against him, I know I’m not showing 100 percent. And I know when I show 100 percent in scrims, I can beat him for sure. So it makes me happy and bitter at the same time because I have so much respect for him as a player, but also I have so much confidence in myself that it knocks me down a notch and humbles me a bit when he slaps me around on stage.

Austin “Gate” Yu, Team Impulse support

I would say CLG’s Aphromoo. I really feel pressured when I play against him, even as a support. He’s fearless throughout the entire game, and I also know he’s the leader for the team.

Apollo “Apollo” Price, Dignitas AD Carry

They’re all good. I guess if I were to say, it would probably be Piglet. And last season, I thought he was better. I feel like he’s kind of evened out. But yeah, last season Piglet.

Galen “Moon” Holgate, NRG jungler

Reignover. He’s just by far the best player. No other comes close. If you took Reignover off of Immortals, I don’t think they would be 17-1. I still think they would be a strong team, just not this good.
