Ssumday on his All-Star chances: “I don’t think I’ll make it. Other top laners are much more popular.”

KT Rolster beat CJ Entus with a hard fought 2-1 win Friday and now has six victories under its belt. Still, top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-Ho expressed some disappointment in his play, writes Daily eSports’ Lee Si-Woo.

“I’m not happy with my individual performance,” he told Daily eSports. “Today’s was a difficult victory, but we ultimately won so I’m satisfied with that.”

When asked whether or not he had some champions he is preparing, he said he was but that they weren’t “ready for play.”

CJ also subbed in Park “Shy” Sang-Myun, making it his return game for the first time in a year. As Ssumday was his lane opponent, he said that he was expecting some resistance from the returning pro player.

“I think a lot of the other teams sub in new players when facing us,” he said. “I was rather caught off guard, but I didn’t feel that I was that far behind (Shy.) I expected him to be in better shape than before but I didn’t think I would be stomped either.”

The interview also inquired about his chances of getting chosen for the All Stars match in Spain, and Ssumday had a very realistic view on his chances.

“I think it’s a dream for any pro player to be chosen as their regions representative at All-Stars,” he said. “I don’t think I’ll make it. Other top laners are much more popular. If I can show a good performance in the regular and postseason I think the fans might be more inclined to choose me.”
