With SK Telecom T1’s League Champions Korea gauntlet match against KT Rolster just around the corner, SKT’s head coach Choi Byung-Hoon shared his thoughts about the matchup with OSEN’s Ko Yong-Jun.
“The goal for this summer season is to be above KT and make it to the world championship,” he told OSEN. “We should be able to reach both of those goals.”
Unlike his character that typically shows an almost nauseating amount of caution, coach Choi actually showed some great confidence, saying that KT’s 3-0 win against Samsung Galaxy was part of a “predicted process,” and that as long as SKT can play to its typical level, it should be able to reach the finals of the summer split.
The winner of this match will play the first place ROX Tigers in the championship.
“We were expecting for KT to be our opponent,” he said. “We did show the fans some missteps, but if we can play as well as we do in practice, we can make it to the finals. I think the matchup will be slightly in our favor, since the pressure they are feeling while facing us is greater than our confidence in facing them.”
The coach also answered some questions about the new 6.15 patch that has changed the game in some drastic ways. He said he expects “head-to-head lane matchups will persist for now,” but did say that “regardless of the patch, the game will come down to making as little mistakes as possible.”
