For those who don’t know, NASL was an early SC2 league that ran in 2011. It ended in a lan tournament that had a huge amount of LAN issues, most notably the sound and downtime. The thing is, it ended up being a success because the finals was one of the great early finals of SC2’s history. The reason is because as time goes on, casual fans can only remember their last impression of an event, which is why TI4 was so derided, despite having some good games through most of the tournament.
In the same sense, ESL PL has had numerous technical issues with the internet in Brazil, but it won’t matter to the majority of the public if they land on a good set of games in the semifinals or final.
