The ROX Tigers signs on ex-head coach of Afreeca

The Afreeca Freecs top laner MaRin (Jang Gyeong-hwan) injured his hand while riding a bicycle and said he's "taking solo queue slowly" while recovering.

The ROX Tigers made the official announcement of their new coaching staff member, Kang Hyun-jong.

Previously the head coach for CJ Entus for the 2015 season and the head coach of the Afreeca Freecs in 2016, head coach Kang boasts the record of the most about of wins against SK Telecom T1 in League Champions Korea history, and ROX announced the appointment on their Facebook page. 

“We are excited to announce Hyun-jong Kang as our new head coach,” they wrote. “Coach Kang’s team-focused, aggressive style is a perfect match with our team’s identity. We are excited to have someone of his experience and perspective on board to lead the ROX Tigers as we work toward next season.”

Interest is mounting as Kang was behind the continued success of the Freecs, bringing them to two postseasons during his stay, and just how much impact he will have in a rebuilding ROX Tigers which just had a large amount of talent leave recently.
