Ruler didn’t expect Samsung Galaxy to stay together

The AD Carry for Samsung Galaxy Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk said in a video interview with Daily eSports that he didn’t think all of his teammates would stay with the team, but he is glad that they did.

“Honestly I didn’t think that we’d keep going (with the same starting roster), but it feels great to be able to keep playing with the same members,” he said. “I think we’ll be able to go even higher.”

One big change was in Samsung’s coaching staff with the addition of former top laner for the Jin Air Green Wings, Yeo “TrAce” Chang-dong. Ruler said that he joked with a teammate about the possibility but never thought it would be realized.

“When our past coach left the team, I joked around with (Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in) about who the new coach would be,” he said. “We mentioned TrAce as a potential coach, but I was surprised that he actually became our coach. I think we’ll do well with him as part of the team.”

Samsung placed second in the 2016 League of Legends World Championship and has advanced to the semifinals of IEM Gyeonggi alongside Immortals, Team Liquid and Kongdoo Monster.
