Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

GorillA: “I want to improve the image of both the Longzhu company and the team’s skill.”

Three Korean League of Legends pros -- Lee "Duke" Ho-seong, Kim "Pure" Jin-sun and Kang "GorillA" Beom-hyun -- apologized for a joke about prostitution made in an on-stream chat in 2016.
Three Korean League of Legends pros -- Lee "Duke" Ho-seong, Kim "Pure" Jin-sun and Kang "GorillA" Beom-hyun -- apologized for a joke about prostitution made in an on-stream chat in 2016 that caused social media uproar last week.

Longzhu Gaming’s support Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun said in an interview with Daily eSports’ Lee Yun-ji that the goal for the new Longzhu is to win as much as possible.

“We are in a position where we have to beat everyone,” he said. “I aim to win as much as I can.”

Longzhu placed eighth in the summer split of League Champions Korea last year, just outside of the threat of relegation. GorillA is well aware of how Longzhu is perceived — even with a new roster — and said he wants to change the way fans see the team.

“I want to improve the image of both the Longzhu company and the team’s skill,” he said.

GorillA won’t be the only former member of the ROX Tigers to go to Longzhu, as he will be joined by AD Carry Kim “PraY” Jong-in. Although he’s playing with a familiar face, GorilA stressed that he and Pray’s past performance means the same is expected of them in the future.

“There is some pressure after going to a very high stage with PraY,” he said.

As for who he’s monitoring, GorillA seems to be looking at the same teams as the rest of community heading into the LCK season.

“SKT’s Bang (Bae Jun-sik) and Wolf (Lee Jae-wan) are strong, and I’m looking out for KT Rolster’s  Deft (Kim Hyuk-kyu) and Mata (Cho Se-hyeong),” he said. “Samsung Galaxy is very good as well. It’ll be fun.”
