Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

Aizy on Karrigan: “We just needed to get the last piece of the puzzle. So now we are legends at a Major.”

Slingshot’s Vince Nairn briefly talked to Philip “Aizy” Aistrup after FaZe Clan qualified for the playoffs of the ELEAGUE Major.

Vince Nairn: For you guys at FaZe, first it was getting to the playoffs at a LAN. Now you’re legend status at a Major.  What does this mean to you?

Philip “Aizy” Aistrup: It feels good. After getting Karrigan, we had a lot of structure applied to our game. So we already have our players that we need. We just needed to get the last piece of the puzzle. So now we are legends at a Major. It feels good.

VN: You guys have been involved in some of the crazier matches of the Major to this point. How have you managed to keep a level head among the fluctuations?

PA: We had a lot of communication errors to start off with. We had a rough start to the whole tournament, but we practiced hard and we know what we’re capable of, so we just played our game and ept focusing. In the end it turned out well.

VN: Advancing to the playoff round, who in particular are you looking out for the most?

PA: I would probably say either Na’Vi or VP maybe, but if you want to be the best, you have to beat everyone. And it doesn’t really matter for us, who we get. We have to show we’re a world class team, so we have to beat everyone.

VN: We’re in this era of Counter-Strike where it seems everyone is on the same sort of level. And you look and there is only one Swedish team and no French teams in the top eight. What does that say about the game right now?

PA: It just shows that there;s no dominant team like there was before, and everyone can win now. You can’t underestimate anyone, and every team is a contender to win this title. Or at least make a really deep run. If you underestimate anyone, they will take advantage of that and most likely knock you out.
