Gla1ve on picking Nuke against Fnatic: “We said before the event that we play all seven maps.”

After defeating Fnatic to qualify for the finals of the ELEAGUE Major, Astralis spoke with members of the media. Watch the full press conference below, and here are a few of the highlights:

Andreas “xyp9x” Højsleth on picking Nuke against Fnatic: We knew they were either going to ban Overpass or Nuke and we would pick either of those maps that they didn’t ban. If they ban Overpass, as they did, we would pick nuke, and I don’t think they played it much. We could see it in the play. They didn’t even have proper smokes and proper tactics, and that was what we kind of knew. We know that they have been practicing it a little bit, but they didn’t feel confident. So that was why.

Lukas “Gla1ve” Rossander on Nuke: We said before the event that we play all seven maps and we wanted to show as well that if you try to ban one of our strongest maps, and you want to play one you don’t ever play, then you are going to lose.

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz on finally reaching the final of a Major: Obviously, we have three guys that have tried, like, this is our 10th time. And succeeding, it’s actually unbelievable in a way that we haven’t really understood yet, I think. And obviously, as you say, the job is not done, and I think all of us just want to focus on tomorrow and have no regrets after that match.
