MVP head coach on playing KT: “Before we got to the arena, we joked around that we should try to win 2-0, but I didn’t know the players could actually pull it off.”

After pulling off a shocking 2-0 upset Tuesday against previously undefeated KT Rolster, MVP head coach Kwon Jae-han expressed his pleasant surprise in an interview with OSEN’s Ko Yong-jun.

“I’m very happy,” he said. “Before we got to the arena, we joked around that we should try to win 2-0, but I didn’t know the players could actually pull it off. We only had a short period of time to prepare, and I told the players to try and play a match with no regrets, and the game worked out very well for us.”

MVP moved to fourth place at 4-3 in the League Champions Korea spring split after handing KT Rolster its first loss after six wins to begin the season. Kwon also addressed peculiar picks from MVP in the form of the Brand support from Jeong “Max” Jong-bin and Kogmaw from Oh “Maha” Hyun-sik.

“We prepared some strategy for the drafting phase,” he said. “When the situation looked like we could swap Rengar for Camille, we created a composition that revolves around champions we planned to take. The Brand pick in Game 2 is a good example. It wasn’t a pick we prepared, but it was the best pick that Max and I made together.”
