Mata on SKT: “I am confident that we can beat them. As long as we play well, we can beat them.”

KT Rolster’s League of Legends team seems to be feeling sick.

In a video interview with Fomos’ Kim “Kenzi” Yong-woo, support Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong said that although KT won against the bbq Olivers on Thursday, the team wasn’t in top shape.

“We won against bbq today, but we were’t feeling that great,” he said. “We had some team issues overlap with that so it wasn’t a satisfying match, but it’s good that we took the win.”

The head coach of KT Lee Ji-hoon said in a separate interview with OSEN’s Ko Yong-jun that the roster was indeed “not feeling their best,” and their fatigue was at a peak “after consecutive losses” by their rival SK Telecom T1 in the past two matches.

“Next week’s schedule is murderous,” he said. “I will work hard to bring the players’ conditions up and reply to the fans’ expectations.”

Although it was a 2-0 victory, both Mata and coach Lee were mostly concerned about KT’s game management in both games and focused on the team’s shortcomings before facing the Olivers. But Mata offered a confident prediction if his team was to face SKT again in the playoffs.

“If we meet them again, I think it’ll be at the finals (of the playoffs) or maybe the semifinals,” he said. “I am confident that we can beat them. As long as we play well, we can beat them.”
