DeKay: Renegades to add Serbian player nexa, pending approval of visa

Renegades plans to sign 19-year-old Serbian player Nemanja “nexa” Isaković to replace Simon “atter” Atterstam on its Counter-Strike roster, according to sources close to the team. Nexa will join Renegades as long as he acquires a visa, allowing him to live and compete with the team in its Detroit house.

The Balkan region is most known for producing superstar Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who recently joined FaZe Clan after his long tenure with mousesports. Nexa is regarded as one of the more  promising up-and-coming players from the region along with Nemanja “huNter” Kovač, NiKo’s cousin.

Renegades will attend IEM Sydney in early May, which will be their first LAN event with nexa on the roster. In online play, Renegades recently placed first in the ECS Development League and has a 3-6 record in ESL Pro League Season 5.

Nexa will replace atter, who had been playing as a stand-in since February. Atter was playing in place of Ricky “Rickeh” Mulholland, who signed with Counter Logic Gaming earlier this month.

Renegades did not respond to request for comment.
