Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. Ninjas in Pyjamas release pyth

Ninjas in Pyjamas released benched player Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi, the player wrote Friday on Twitter.

Pyth was replaced in the starting lineup two months ago by William “Draken” Sundin amid struggling performances for the Swedish Counter-Strike squad. Pyth has been a part of NiP since December 2015 and started for almost all of that time, with the exception of a few months last summer when he nursed a hand injury. Ninjas in Pyjamas used Maikel “Maikelele” Bill in place of pyth at that time and won IEM Oakland in November upon his return.

With Draken, NiP’s results have not been much better. Ninjas in Pyjamas failed to qualify for the playoffs of StarLadder Kiev and the CS Summit and finished 10th of 14 teams in Season 5 of the ESL Pro League.

Slingshot reported May 2 that Maikelele had been kicked from his team, Dignitas, and had practiced with pyth. It will be interesting to see is pyth reunites with his former teammate now that he is no longer a part of NiP.
