Phoenix1 has been in constant flux during the summer split of the North American League of Legends Championship Series after a third place finish in the spring. Most recently, Yoo “Ryu” Sang-wook stepped down as starting mid laner. The team welcomed Friday the return of Choi “Pirean” Jun-sik, who was originally part of Phoenix1 until a brief stint with EnVyUs.
Selfie is a Polish player with substantial experience, mostly in Europe. He’s played on H2K, Misfits and FC Schalke 04, and he was most recently a part of Tempo Storm in the North American Challenger Series.
Phoenix1 has used three junglers this split — William “Meteos” Hartman, Rami “Inori” Charagh and now Michael “MikeYeung” Yeung, who took over with Inori transferring to Team Liquid. The support position has also seen upheaval, with Alex “Xpecial” Chu taking over for Jordan “Shady” Robison earlier in the split. Nothing has made a difference in performance, though, as Phoenix1 is in last place with a record of 3-11.
Neither Tempo Storm nor Phoenix1 made any announcement regarding SELFIE as of yet, but Riot Games’ global contract database has him listed with Phoenix1 with a contract that ends May 31, 2019.
