Runner confirms RunAway’s Season 4 OGN Apex roster, discusses dynamics on stream

Yoon “Runner” Dae-hoon confirmed during a stream Monday the roster for RunAway in Season 4 of OGN Overwatch APEX.

Following the return of Ryu “Kaiser” Sang-hoon, Runner revealed the rest of the roster, which includes Runner, Park “BUMPER” Sang-beom, Lee “Stitch” Choong-hee, Kim “Haksal” Hyo-jong, Kim “KoX” Min-su, Choi “JJANU” Hyun-woo, Hwang “Tizi” Jang-hyeon.

“The reason why we put an eighth man in the main tank role is because both (Kaiser and Tizi) have great personalities,” Runner said. “They both want to build one another up. Tizi is strong with Winston, and Kaiser is strong with Reinhardt. What that means is that there is a lot that they can learn from one another. They’re both recording gameplay videos for one another right now, and they’re doing feedback with one another. Right now the main tanker is a very important role, and I thought it would be good for everyone if Tizi and Kaiser were the main tanks.”

Both Tizi and JJANU are new additions leading into Season 4, who joined the team after going through tryouts, Runner said. Tizi was the main tanker for Rhinos Gaming Wings, while JJANU is a high ranking player on the Korean servers who is most well known for his mastery as Reaper.

Runner also took the time to talk about the team’s ambitions for Season 4 of APEX, mainly setting up a gaming house for the whole team, which he couldn’t supply in the past. With one week left until RunAway’s opening match of APEX , and the inherent difficulties with finding a gaming house, Runner said the move-in date has been pushed back until he find the perfect place.

“Originally we wanted to move into the gaming house this week, but our first game is on the 14th, so less than a week away,” he said. “As you can imagine, there is a lot more work even after finding a place, like setting internet up and getting used to living with one another.”

RunAway is one of Korea’s more popular teams, reaching its peak in Season 2 when it created a dramatic rise to the grand finals to face Lunatic-Hai, the best Korean Overwatch team.
