Mousesports announces STYKO signing

Mousesports announced Tuesday the signing of STYKO.
Mousesports announced Tuesday the signing of STYKO (Martin Styk).

Mousesports announced Tuesday the signing of Martin “STYKO” Styk to its Counter-Strike team.

“Martin is a very smart player,” mousesports coach Sergey Bezhanov said in a statement. “I have been working with him before and know what he is capable of. He can adapt to almost any role in a team. STYKO will be able to support chrisJ with calling our strategies and be very helpful in clutch situations.”

STYKO will replace Denis “denis” Howell, who was part of Mouz since May 2015. STYKO joined mousesports after a deal for OpTic Gaming’s Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas and fell through. Although it’s not exactly clear how the deal fell through, one source said Mouz backed out of the buyout at the last second, while another speculated mixwell simply changed his mind.

This is the second time that something like this has happened with mixwell. In May he was reportedly supposed to join Team Liquid with Will “RUSH” Wierzba before the deal fell through at the last minute. For now, mixwell is expected to stay on the roster of Optic Gaming, but there is no guarantee that he will continue to remain so.

STYKO joins Mouz after playing for HellRaisers and helping the team to a handful of solid finishes in recent months, though the team fell short of qualifying for the PGL Krakow Major. With the signing of STYKO, Mouseports now has a full roster with Chris “chrisJ”de Jong, Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný, Robin “ropz” Kool and Miikka “suNny” Kemppi. Denis and Christian “loWel” Antonin have left the organization during this period.
