With Star Guardian mania at a fever pitch with the release of five new skins, Riot Games China will look to cash in on the hype by selling mini figurines that look like the first five Star Guardians.
Figurines of Star Guardian Poppy, Janna, Lux, Jinx, and Lulu are up for sale for 220 Yuan — or about $33. The figurines are sold in a set of five, and customers who buy the set will also receive a mysterious Ahri figure and a themed base on which to place the action figures.
For those fans of the Star Guardians outside of China, the figures will be added to other parts of the world in early September, according to a Reddit post by Rioter RiotBradmore.
Along with new particle effects, custom recalls, and sound effects, the first Star Guardian expansion also had a 3D music video in both English and Japanese. There was also an online quiz that players could take, which unlocked a summoner icon upon completion. The skins are heavily influenced by the designs of Japan’s magical girl genre of anime and was originally just a skin for the champion Lux.
On Tuesday, Riot revealed a new Star Guardian skin line, with Syndra, Ezreal, Soraka, Miss Fortune, and Ahri. The new skins look like they share the high production quality of the first batch and have since been added to the game’s Public Beta Environment for testing.
Along with the new skins will be a new game mode called Invasion, where five players will play in cooperation as the Star Guardians.
