Slingshot Readers,

We NEED your support. More specifically, the author of this article needs your support. If you've been enjoying our content, you know that a lot of work goes into our stories and although it may be a work of passion, writers gotta eat. If just half our readers gave 1 DOLLAR a month, one measly dollar, we could fund all the work from StuChiu, DeKay, Emily, Andrew (and even Vince). If you contribute 5 DOLLARS a month, we invite you to join our Discord and hang with the team. We wouldn't bother you like this if we didn't need your help and you can feel good knowing that 100% of your donation goes to the writers. We'd really appreciate your support. After all, you're what makes all this happen. Learn more

Chiu on This
A short and regular opinion blast from Stephen Chiu

‘Chiu on This’ is a short and regular opinion blast

I’ve personally found it strange and at times hypocritical that so many game devs/companies have gone out of their way to try to stop YouPorn’s sponsorship of esports players and teams. In a sense, I can understand it as porn is still a testy subject to speak about, especially in areas like NA or China. At the same time, I’ve never heard anything bad about the management of Team YP’s esports teams. I feel like they’ve been hard done by, but in the end it comes down to consumers. People are fine with porn in the dark but can’t handle even the word being used in the light. One day, when YouPorn can have a legit competitive esports teams without anyone raising a huge fuss, we will have ascended as both human beings and a society.

Basically what I’m trying to say is, Protect the Porn
